Care & Usage
How to Use Your Silk Coffee Filter
Using your silk filter is a simple, meditative ritual that becomes second nature with practice.
First Use
1. Rinse the filter gently under warm water
2. Place it in your pour-over cone or dripper
3. Add your freshly ground coffee
4. Pour slowly, allowing the water to flow through the silk at its own pace
Daily Ritual
The silk filter works best with medium to coarse ground coffee. Pour water in a slow, circular motion, starting from the center and moving outward. Watch as the silk captures sediment while allowing coffee's essential oils to pass through — creating a cup that's both clean and full-bodied.
After Each Use
1. Rinse thoroughly under warm running water
2. Gently squeeze or wring out excess water
3. Hang to air dry in a well-ventilated space
4. Store dry when not in use
Deep Cleaning
Once a week, or when you notice buildup:
• Soak in warm water with a small amount of gentle, natural soap
• Rinse thoroughly until water runs clear
• Air dry completely before next use
What to Avoid
• No machine washing or drying
• No harsh detergents or bleach
• No direct sunlight for extended periods
Longevity
With proper care, your silk filter will serve you for years. Over time, it will develop a subtle patina — a sign of use and character. This is natural and does not affect performance.
Silk is resilient. Treat it with respect, and it will reward you with countless perfect cups.
